About the Collection

BMC Bioinformatics is welcoming submissions to our Collection on Bioinformatics and chemoinformatics in drug discovery.

Chemoinformatics integrates chemical data with computational tools to enhance drug discovery, repurposing and development. By advancing techniques for exploring molecular interactions, predicting biological activity, and refining pharmacokinetic and toxicity profiles, chemoinformatics has become integral to identifying promising drug candidates and repurposing existing drugs for new therapeutic uses.

This Collection invites submissions on novel computational or statistical approaches integrating bioinformatics and chemoinformatics in the context of drug discovery and repurposing, with a focus on virtual screening, molecular docking and QSAR modeling. We encourage studies that highlight innovative strategies for identifying and validating repurposed drug candidates using these methods.
