BMC Veterinary Research is calling for submissions to our Collection on Innovations in veterinary diagnostic digital imaging. 

This Collection aims to highlight cutting-edge research and developments in digital imaging technologies within veterinary diagnostics. Advancements in digital imaging technologies, including digital radiography, ultrasound, CT, and MRI, have transformed veterinary medicine by enabling more accurate and timely diagnoses. These innovations have significantly improved both the quality of care for animals and the efficiency of veterinary practices. With the increasing demand for sophisticated diagnostic tools, advancing our collective knowledge of the latest developments is crucial for further innovation.

Ashraf M. Abu-Seida, PhD, Cairo University, Egypt

Dr Ashraf M. Abu-Seida has been a full Professor of Surgery, Anesthesiology, and Radiology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University since 2012. His main roles include teaching veterinary students and supervising MSc and PhD students. His main areas of interest include veterinary diagnostic digital imaging and dentistry. He is the director of the Cairo University Center for Printing and Publishing. He has authored or co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed articles and supervised more than 60 master's and PhD theses. He now serves as an editorial member and reviewer for over 40 reputed journals. Dr Abu-Seida has been bestowed various national awards for excellence in scientific research.

Małgorzata Domino, DVM, MSc, PhD, DSc, Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Poland

Dr Małgorzata Domino is an Associate Professor at the Warsaw University of Life Science (SGGW). She received a DVM in 2011 and an MSc in Animal Science in 2012. In 2015, she received a PhD in Veterinary Science for electromyographic research, and then in 2019, she received a DSc (habilitation) for advanced computational models in electromyographic research. She has authored or co-authored over 65 publications, mainly in the field of equine diagnostic imaging and functional research. She is an academic teacher of large and small animals diagnostic imaging and equine internal medicine at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine SGGW.

BMC Veterinary Research is calling for submissions to our Collection on Innovations in veterinary diagnostic digital imaging. 

Advances in digital imaging technologies, ranging from traditional X-rays to cutting-edge modalities like CT scans and MRIs, have redefined veterinary diagnostics. This technological progression equips veterinarians with enhanced insights into animal anatomy, facilitating swift and accurate diagnoses.

Central to this evolution is the One Health approach, emphasizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. This collaborative paradigm has integrated the expertise of veterinary and medical professionals, helping to accelerate research, expand diagnostic capabilities, and refine treatment strategies that benefit both animals and humans.

By minimizing unnecessary procedures and optimizing imaging protocols, veterinarians can reduce radiation exposure, conserve resources, and contribute to a sustainable healthcare model.

The future of veterinary digital imaging is characterized by ongoing technological innovation, heightened diagnostic capabilities, and a more personalized approach to veterinary medicine. These developments hold the promise of elevating the standard of care for animals, enabling quicker and more accurate diagnoses, and ultimately enhancing the overall health and well-being of animals.

This Collection seeks to explore the multifaceted dimensions of digital imaging technologies in veterinary diagnostics, showcasing pioneering research and advances in this field. Submissions may include original research, opinion papers reviews, case reports, and study protocols.

Potential areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
