BMC Bioinformatics was calling for submissions to our Collection on “Prediction and modelling of RNA structure and interactions”. 

This Collection welcomed submissions on novel algorithms, computational methods and tools on the topics of classification, analysis, comparison and evolution of RNA molecules , approaches to RNA structure (inverse) prediction —both at the level of secondary and tertiary structure— and study of RNA interactions with other biological or synthetic molecules. Focus on particular classes of RNAs, such as ribosomal RNA, long non-coding RNAs and viral genomes, was welcomed.

Anže Božič, PhD, Department of Theoretical Physics, Jožef Stefan Institute, Slovenia

Anže Božič is a research associate in the Department of Theoretical Physics at Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia. His main research interests cover various topics in physical virology, the structure and topology of RNA, role of electrostatic interactions in biological and soft matter systems, and classification of order and order transitions in particle assemblies in spherical geometry.
 

Letizia Chiodo, PhD, Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma, Italy

Letizia Chiodo is an Associate Professor in Condensed Matter Theoretical Physics. She investigates the physical and chemical properties of inorganic materials and organic systems using advanced theoretical and computational atomistic methods. She is a member of the European
Theoretical Spectroscopy Facility (ETSF). She is especially interested in the structural and functional properties of lncRNAs and their interaction with proteins to understand their physiological role and their relationship with the onset of diseases.  

Luca Tesei, PhD, University of Camerino, Italy

Luca Tesei, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the School of Sciences and Technology, University of Camerino, Italy. His research interests include Bioinformatics, Theoretical Computer Science and Computational Systems Biology. In the last five years, his focus has been in structural representation and comparison of non-coding RNA. Furthermore, he serves as an Editorial Board member in BMC Bioinformatics.
