About the Collection

BMC Anesthesiology is calling for submissions to our Collection, Regional anesthesia for children and young adults.

Regional anesthesia has emerged as a valuable technique for providing perioperative pain management in children and young adults undergoing various surgical procedures. This approach offers the potential for improved pain control, reduced opioid consumption, and enhanced recovery following surgery. Furthermore, research has highlighted the potential for regional anesthesia to improve postoperative outcomes and enhance the overall surgical experience for pediatric patients.

It is important for us to continue advancing our collective understanding in this area to optimize perioperative care for pediatric and young adult patients. We invite submissions from all aspects of this field, including, but not limited to:

  • Ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia
  • Peripheral nerve blocks in children and young adults
  • Surgical stress management in pediatric patients
  • Postoperative pain control in young patients
  • Long-term outcomes of regional anesthesia in young patients
