Algorithms for Molecular Biology is calling for submissions to our Collection on RNA Algorithms. We welcome submissions from the broader computational RNA research community that develop the next generation of methods to enhance RNA structure prediction, including 2D and 3D features, identify functional RNA elements within genomes, and synthesize novel classes of functional RNAs.

About the Collection

RNAs, as vital molecular actors in biology, are receiving increasing attention in biological research, leading to numerous computational challenges that require novel algorithms. This Collection will focus on the latest advancements in bioinformatics algorithms for computational RNA biology.

We welcome submissions from the broader computational RNA research community that develop the next generation of methods to enhance RNA structure prediction, including 2D and 3D features, identify functional RNA elements within genomes, and synthesize novel classes of functional RNAs. The vibrancy of this community is well reflected in the recurring meeting on "Computational Approaches to RNA Structure and Function" held every 2-3 years in Benasque, and we particularly encourage contributions from participants of this event.

In line with the mission of Algorithms in Molecular Bioinformatics, this Collection aims to provide a platform for sharing innovative algorithmic ideas and developments, free from the immediate need to surpass established tools in benchmarks.

This Collection welcomes submissions of original research articles. Should you wish to submit a different article type, please read our submission guidelines to confirm that type is accepted by the journal.

Articles for this Collection should be submitted via our submission system, Snapp. Please select the appropriate Collection title “RNA Algorithms" under the “Details” tab during the submission stage.

Articles will undergo the journal’s standard peer-review process and are subject to all the journal’s standard policies. Articles will be added to the Collection as they are published.

The Editors have no competing interests with the submissions which they handle through the peer-review process. The peer-review of any submissions for which the Editors have competing interests is handled by another Editorial Board Member who has no competing interests.
